Chimney Rock Park, North Carolina

:: Destinations – North America – North Carolina

Chimney Rock State Park, NC is part of the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area and is close to Asheville, NC.

(More about Chimney Rock State Park)

As the air began turning crisp by Fall of 2001, I had chalked out an itinerary that would allow me to explore the natural regions of the beautiful Piedmont and with it, the beauty of autumn. The drive through roads lined by lovely fall foliage was inspiring, and that was only exaggerated by the scenic trail, views and climb atop the magnificent Chimney Rock. A must-visit spot!

Autumn in the Blue Ridge Parkway

:: Destinations – North America – North Carolina

The Blue Ridge Parkway, extends more than 400 miles, from near New York in the north to Georgia in the south, is a wonderfully developed scenic drive.

Having heard such a lot about it, especially about the autumn colors, here, are pictures from my first (and second, and…) trip in the Fall of 2001. I enjoyed the trip more than I could imagine, and in these pages, you can see why. Enjoy your trip too!
